mark fromm

Mark Fromm (b. 1982) is a composer from Pittsburgh, PA. He received his bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon and recently completed his masters degree at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where he was the composer-in-residence of the McGill Wind Symphony. He has won several composition competitions including the London Chamber Group's 2003 Piece of the Year Competition for his clarinet quartet Orison, and received honorable mention in Chanticleer's 2006 Student Composer Competition for his a cappella choir piece America. He is an active musician and is currently the principal bassoonist in the University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
