On August 31st alia musica was back at the Music Hall of Chatham University to kick off its 2008–9 Season with a chamber concert. Alongside pieces by Garcia and the guest composer of the event, Thomas Childs, the concert featured premieres by Livengood, Fromm, Ogburn, and Kudisch.

This last was a kind of farewell to Erica, a founder member who during the Summer moved to New York. Her piece was a musical tale, with narrator, and in between its different sections the other pieces were played.
